Tararua Parish combines Aotearoa New Zealand North Island churches of St Brigid's and St Joseph's to form this parish grouping. St Brigid's Parish includes the  communities of Pahiatua (St Brigid's), Woodville (St Columbkille's), and Eketahuna (Sacred Heart).  St Joseph's Parish includes the communities of Dannevirke ( St Joseph's) and Pongaroa (Our Lady of the Rosary).   Browse through our website to discover something of the history, activities and people which make up the life of our vibrant Parish.

News Briefs from Around the Tararua Parishes

Tararua Parishes' Timetable

• No changes to daily or Sunday (Saturday Vigil) schedule at this time.
• Reconciliation:  Saturday from 4.45 pm - 5.15 pm

St Joseph's, Dannevirke

• Sundays:  No change to Mass schedule.
• Daily Mass:  See newsletter
• Reconciliation & Benediction - First Wednesday of Month 5.30 pm ON HOLD
• Miha Mass Fourth Sunday of month
• Stations of the Cross 4.30pm Fridays

All Mass and Service of the Word liturgies will be offered on Sunday at 9.00 am during the month.  The Holy Mass will continue to be offered on the 4th Sunday of the month; all other Sundays offer Service of the Word with Holy Communion.

St Brigid's Church Refurbishment

The initial phases of refurbishing the interior of St Brigid's Pahiatua have begun.  Watch this space for updates.

Benediction & Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament in the Tararua Parishes

Everyone is welcome to spend some time with the Lord!

St Brigid's Pahiatua will offer Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament on the following schedule:

• Sunday:  1.30pm - 3.00pm (if persons available to cover each hour)*
• Friday:  After 9.30 am Mass (approximately 10.00 noon) to 10.30 pm

* If you are able to commit to a one hour block on Sunday, please sign up in the foyer of the church.  Thank you for your commitment to the Lord.

St Joseph's Dannevirke will offer Benediction & Reconciliation: -

• 1st Wednesday of each month:  5.30 pm to 6.30 pm ON HOLD

Rosary

• Pahiatua -  The Rosary will continue to be prayed weekly according to the schedule listed in the Newsletter (see link above).  All are welcome to join us.
• Dannevirke - 9am Monday to Friday during the month of May.

Men's Group -

The Men's Group meets on Wednesday at 7.00 pm.  Men aged 16 and up are welcome to join us for faith, fellowship, and friendship.

1st Wednesday -Benediction 7.00 pm

2nd and fourth Wednesday - Formation Night

3rd and 5th Wednesday -Men's Group Only -
